We are seeking a Media Relations & Product Communications Manager on a contract basis to help support our customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote.


Hybrid options are also available for candidates in NYC or Los Angeles.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the communications teams in executing consumer and product communications initiatives
  • Lead media relations for product launches across technology, consumer, social, and creator-focused media
  • Develop and execute proactive storytelling campaigns beyond product launches
  • Secure media coverage for Gen Z trends, creator success stories, music milestones, and cultural moments
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, and Partnerships teams to develop go-to-market press and social media strategies
  • Build and maintain relationships with reporters, social publishers, creators, and emerging media outlets
  • Develop compelling press materials, brand narratives, blog content, and social media messaging
  • Identify opportunities to increase media visibility through strategic storytelling and product communications


Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in public relations, journalism, social media, or a related field

  • Experience managing product communications and product launch campaigns
  • Established relationships with consumer technology media, reporters, creators, and social publishers
  • Proven success securing media coverage through strategic media pitching
  • Experience developing creative narratives for consumer products across traditional and social media
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Excellent writing skills for press releases, blog posts, brand storytelling, and social content
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience creating press-worthy narratives around product features and updates
Must-Have Skills
  • Established Media Relationships: Proven relationships with press contacts, creators, and social publishers, with demonstrated success securing meaningful media coverage and measurable outcomes.
  • Media Pitching & Story Placement: Strong hands-on experience developing compelling media pitches and personally securing earned media coverage for product announcements, launches, and campaigns.
  • Product Communications & Launches: Proven ability to translate consumer product features, updates, and launches into compelling, press-worthy narratives and story angles.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Consumer/Lifestyle PR Agency Experience: Previous experience within a consumer or lifestyle PR agency, with significant exposure to fast-paced media outreach and pitching.
  • Trend & Cultural Storytelling: Strong instincts for identifying social and cultural trends and framing Instagram features, creator stories, and emerging topics into relevant media narratives.
  • NYC/LA Media Market Familiarity: Familiarity with the New York City or Los Angeles media landscape and an established local media network is preferred but not required.
