Job description

Our Customer’s mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. We are seeking a Communications Manager on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role will be responsible for writing and editing news articles and other digital content. Comfortable distilling complex issues and topics into concise and approachable language. This role is 100% remote and candidates must be able to work PST hours.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write and edit blog posts to disseminate news and information to media, policy elites, and consumers
  • Help teams prepare and publish posts on the company newsroom, including product announcements, policy updates, and reactive statements
  • Develop ideas for proactive content and storytelling
  • Work closely with subject matter experts across the company to gather information and get approval for public release
  • Develop concepts and copy that resonate with the target audience
  • Partner with creative team to develop complementary visual assets
  • Contribute to distribution strategy, including advising on and drafting social media posts

Must-Haves
  • A Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of related work experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to distill complex issues and topics into concise and approachable language
  • Ability to deliver quality writing under tight deadlines
  • Strong storyteller - you find compelling ways to get our message across
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in politics or policy
  • Experience with WordPress or other content management systems
