We are seeking a Communications Operations Specialist on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role will be 100% remote or on-site in Santa Clara, CA.
We are seeking a data-driven storyteller to join our Global Communications team as a Communications Operations Specialist (Contractor). This role is the analytical engine of our team, responsible for measuring the impact of our work and translating complex data into a compelling narrative of success. If you have an affinity for building beautiful presentations, a deep expertise in media analysis tools, and a passion for letting the data tell the story, this role is for you. You will be the central point for all communications metrics, highlighting the amazing work the team delivers and helping to shape our future strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly communications performance reports to leadership, key stakeholders, and broader teams
- Manage media analysis and monitoring tools, ensuring data integrity and serving as the subject matter expert
- Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators, including Share of Voice (SOV), message pull-through, sentiment, key media placements, and executive visibility
- Create visually compelling presentations and dashboards that translate raw metrics into clear narratives showing team impact
- Collaborate with regional and functional communications leads to ensure consistent metric tracking and reporting across campaigns
- Partner with external agencies to understand media metrics and develop strategies to support communication goals
- Utilize media monitoring tools to track and analyze media coverage and sentiment
- Gather and analyze media metrics, including reach, impressions, and engagement across multiple channels
- Collaborate with internal communications teams to produce insights-driven media performance reports
- Maintain a strong understanding of media coverage, competitive landscape, and industry trends
- Manage and optimize media data using G-Suite, Cision, Brandwatch, PR Newswire, and related platforms
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- 5–7 years of experience in media metrics and reporting within a corporate PR organization or PR agency
- Proficiency in G-Suite, Cision, PR Newswire, and other media monitoring tools
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with emerging trends and best practices in media analytics and monitoring
- Ability to work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely distribution of media insights
- Ability to contribute to developing and enhancing media monitoring strategies and processes
