Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.

We are seeking a Communications Specialist on a contract basis to help craft and deliver impactful communications that keep the company's teams informed and engaged. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in communications, with an emphasis on employee engagement, IT/Technical communication such as system outages, patches, system go-lives and other Org related communication. In this role you will be responsible for adeptly supporting strategic initiatives to ensure a cohesive and impactful communication strategy. This is a great chance to work for a mission-driven company where you can have a real impact. This role is a hybrid setup with 2 days remote and 3 days onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communications strategy tailored to the company's needs, including messaging, communication channels, and diverse tactics
  • Create and distribute engaging internal communications content, including announcements, newsletters, Zoom posts, intranet content, videos, presentations, and more
  • Support all-hand meetings by creating compelling content and managing event logistics to ensure a great experience for a hybrid audience
  • Advise key stakeholders on the internal communications strategy, including channel, timing, voice, and corporate messaging
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and key stakeholders to ensure internal communication remains clear, consistent, and aligned with the strategic direction of the business
  • Project manage the internal communications intake process/calendar, intranet, and distribution of internal comms
  • Evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of internal communications through feedback and data analysis, proposing improvements accordingly
  • Establish and maintain a dynamic content calendar, ensuring the timeliness and relevance of internal communications
  • Identify innovative approaches to foster employee engagement
  • Help brainstorm creative new ways to engage global teams and continue to improve internal communications
Skill/Job Requirements:
  • A Bachelors degree in; Business, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • 8+ years of communications experience preferably with a significant number of those focused on employee communications, or similar environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a strategic mindset with a focus on aligning communications with organizational goals
  • Team player and works well under pressure
  • Works well in ambiguous situation, with a mindset of ownership and accountability and stays highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to connect with diverse audiences
  • Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
