Job description

We are seeking a Communications Specialist on a contract basis to help support our customer’s business needs. This role can be 100% remote, but on-site in LA or NYC is preferred.


The Communications Specialist will support product-focused communications efforts for the creator audience. This role will lead media strategies for product updates and launches, execute creator-led media initiatives, and develop strong relationships with consumer, tech, and creator-focused reporters. The position requires strong writing skills, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of the creator and tech media landscape.



Responsibilities:

  • Support product communication priorities for the creator audience in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Lead media strategy and execution for product updates and launches, with an emphasis on creator-led media, creators, and social publishers.
  • Conduct press outreach, manage creator engagements, and identify social opportunities to reach target audiences.
  • Represent communications on cross-functional working teams, contributing to go-to-market planning, strategy, and execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with consumer, tech, and creator-focused media outlets and reporters.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in public relations, journalism, social media, or related fields.
  • Direct experience in product communications and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of the consumer/creator and tech media landscape, with the ability to manage press relationships effectively.
  • Experience writing press statements, blogs, narratives, and social copy.
  • Ability to identify unique ways to tell product and trend stories across next-generation publications and social platforms.


Preferred:

  • Media relations and media list development.
  • Strong writing and project management skills.
  • Experience with product communications for consumer or creator-focused products.
  • Social media experience.
  • Experience in the creator economy, influencer support, or branded content.
