Our Customer is seeking an experienced Compensation & Total Rewards Lead on a contract basis to lead a comprehensive market benchmarking and internal compensation review, focused primarily on the US and Canada. This role will play a critical part in ensuring our salary structures and total rewards offerings are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our business strategy.

  • Develop structured salary ranges and compensation guidelines by practice area, role, job family, experience level, and actuarial credential progression
  • Propose frameworks for base salary and total compensation positioning
  • Review employee compensation data across practices, roles, and geographies
  • Assess compensation alignment with market benchmarks, internal equity, and pay progression expectations
  • Identify pay outliers, compression issues, and compensation inconsistencies
  • Partner with HR leadership to prioritize potential compensation adjustments based on impact, risk, and budget considerations
  • Evaluate broader total rewards offerings, including benefits, incentives, and exam support
  • Recommend rewards enhancements to improve competitiveness and retention
  • Present findings and recommendations to HR leadership and senior business stakeholders
  • Develop actionable reports, compensation bands, guidelines, dashboards, and supporting documentation
  • Provide documentation and tools to support ongoing compensation management

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in compensation, human resources, finance, or HR analytics
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, data modeling, and large data set manipulation
  • Experience working with compensation survey data
  • Experience in actuarial, insurance, consulting, or professional services environments preferred
  • Familiarity with actuarial career paths and credential structures, including ASA, FSA, and exam progression
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Strong understanding of compensation benchmarking, salary structures, and total rewards practices
  • Ability to assess internal equity, market competitiveness, pay progression, and compensation risk
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to develop clear, actionable reports, dashboards, and compensation tools
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
