Job description

Our Customer is an endoscope manufacturer, offering systems for human and veterinary medicine as well as for industrial applications. They are headquartered in El Segundo, California.


Our Customer is seeking a Compensation Manager on a contract basis to support the enterprise-wide compensation job database project. The role is primarily project-focused, with accountability for managing timelines, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring the successful creation, review, governance, and population of job descriptions across the organization.


This role will serve as a key contributor to ensuring every position in the organization has a documented, evaluated, and appropriately graded job description, while also establishing sustainable governance and processes for ongoing job management.


This role is hybrid (2 days on-site and 3 days remote/week) in Auburn, MA.


Schedule: Hours are flexible, anywhere from 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM



Responsibilities:

  • Lead and project manage compensation-related initiatives with strong subject-matter expertise
  • Assess, create, and review approximately 1,200 job descriptions
  • Finalize, tag, and enter approximately 800 existing job descriptions into the system
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to finalize approximately 400 job descriptions currently in progress
  • Collaborate extensively with business partners across the organization
  • Populate and manage job descriptions within a new job architecture or HR system
  • Create standard operating procedures and governance processes
  • Develop end-to-end process flowcharts to support work within a heavily regulated environment
  • Document governance frameworks to ensure long-term sustainability and consistency


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience
  • Direct compensation experience, including job evaluation, job leveling, and market benchmarking
  • Strong understanding of job architecture, grading, and benchmarking methodologies
  • Ability to project manage complex initiatives within structured systems
  • Experience working within complex or highly regulated systems
  • Strong collaboration skills, particularly with HR Business Partners
  • Experience with process documentation and governance development
  • High attention to quality, accuracy, and detail
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining high standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in large, complex organizational environments
  • Consulting experience within compensation or rewards, including exposure to firms such as Radford, Aon, or Mercer
  • Industry experience within medical devices or pharmaceuticals
  • Additional industry experience within chemical, oil, automotive, or electromechanical device sectors
