They are doing this by tapping into the built-in value of a home, helping homeowners do the big-ticket stuff that makes life better: start a business, buy a second home, get out from under crippling debt, or pay for college tuition. They also aspire to build a long-lasting durable financial-technology company that will become a hallmark of the Boston economy.

As part of the Legal team, the Compliance Manager will support the ongoing buildout and development of key compliance programs across multiple teams, providing support, guidance and operational excellence to enable business growth and development. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining compliance programs, ensuring that products and processes meet regulatory and legal requirements in order to support the client’s products and partnership opportunities. You will become a trusted resource to our business stakeholders, supporting desired business outcomes with efficient compliance solutions. Our ideal candidate achieves success through collaboration and innovation, building out effective and intelligent processes and seeking new and improved ways to deliver compliance that translates into best-in-class client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate existing policies, procedures, and training and work with business teams to modify as needed

  • Coordinate internal compliance risk assessment review and monitoring activities

  • Partner with business teams on completion of issue remediation

  • Provide expert regulatory advice regarding compliance program elements

  • Maintain written compliance policies and procedures in an organized manner for easy reference and review

  • Monitor internal controls and establish testing programs within the various operational teams to ensure proper compliance to laws and regulations

  • Develop and deliver compliance training and communication programs for employees

  • Maintain knowledge of the current regulatory environment, industry standards and best practices and procedures governing financial institutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience

  • 5+ years of experience in compliance in a financial institution setting

  • Working knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulations impacting financial institutions

  • Proven ability to partner across all levels of the organization and develop positive working relationships

  • Work-related experience in the development and presentation of compliance-related training

  • Able to manage and execute multiple complex projects within required timelines

  • Demonstrated conceptual thinking and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently in a continuously changing environment

  • Exemplary personal and professional integrity and business ethics

  • Commitment to diversity and a respect for others.

Desired Skills:

  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager Certification (CRCM) a plus

  • Familiarity with real estate, lending, mortgage and related industries a plus

Our Team & Culture

At the client, we pride ourselves on being owners -- of our jobs, our output, our careers -- and Good Neighbors -- we believe helping each other means helping the company, homeowners, and investors succeed.

Equally important to your skill set is what you bring to our team and business. We are looking for a creative thinker who looks for opportunities within challenges, rolls up their sleeves to get things done, values collaboration and communication, and embraces the Homeowner-first mentality. Critical to our mission is being thoughtful in everything we build. If you’re someone who embraces this builder mentality, you’ll be right at home here.
