Job description

Location: Lakeville, MA (but job is remote!)

The Mom Project is excited to partner with a niche construction business specializing in thermal contracting. As new owners, we are committed to rapidly expanding our presence in the industry and are seeking a dedicated bookkeeper to grow with us.

Job Description: We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis (approximately 15 hours per week). The role offers extreme flexibility in work hours, allowing you to manage your schedule independently as long as deadlines are met. This position is ideal for someone seeking a dynamic work environment with the opportunity to contribute to the growth of a business.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Process invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures, including filing state sales tax.
  • Work closely with our high-level team to support business decisions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (we currently use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise but plan to move to QuickBooks Online).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Business-minded with a collaborative approach to working with a high-level team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in a small business or startup environment.
  • Knowledge of construction industry accounting practices (preferred but not required).
