Job description

Our MBA Admissions Consulting provides 1:1 personalized application coaching for young professionals who aspire to attend the top MBA programs in the world. For these ambitious applicants, the cookie cutter, superficial approach they’ll experience with a “brand name” consulting firm won’t cut it. What they need is a true partner in the application process, laser focused on guiding them, encouraging them, and challenging them at every step.

We know that there are no shortcuts in doing the work to develop an authentic, compelling application that gets you accepted to your dream program and that’s why we serve our clients differently: with our industry-low client-to-consultant ratio (4:1) and our exceptionally collaborative team committed to your success. And how do we know it works? Because our clients experience acceptance rates to the top programs that are 3X the average.

We are looking for a Consultative Sales Specialist to join our team. This role will be dedicated to leading the prospective client’s first live 1:1 interaction with our team: the initial consultation. If you have prior experience in a sales or client outreach role and are passionate about higher education, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and conduct 30-minute initial consultation meetings with prospective clients with a goal to sell our services to them if they’re a good fit. Consultations are primarily focused on assessing the lead’s strengths and weaknesses as an applicant, answering their questions about the application process, and then explaining how we can help them achieve their dream of getting into a top MBA program.
  • Send follow-up communications as needed to nurture leads until they convert or decline
  • For leads who move forward, match them with the best consultant on our team for their profile and goals
  • Answer prospective client questions about the different packages, pricing, discounts, etc.
  • Articulate how our firm / team is different and the best in the industry
  • Complete new client onboarding, including drafting the contract, sending the invoice, etc.
  • Success will be measured by conversion rate (rate of closed leads divided by number of initial consultations). The goal conversion rate is 25% on non-referral leads.

Qualifications:

  • Must have prior sales or client outreach experience (2+ years)
  • Must have graduated with a 4-year bachelor’s degree in 2010 or earlier
  • Must have at least one of the following:
  • an MBA
  • worked with an admissions consultant while applying to undergrad or graduate school
  • worked in admissions at a top 20 MBA program
  • Must be passionate about higher education and the role we play as admissions consultants in supporting young professionals’ educational dreams
  • Must be knowledgeable about the current MBA admissions landscape in order to provide prospective clients honest and helpful advice
  • Must be organized, reliable, and highly responsive (via email, text, etc.)
  • Must be relentless about following up (gently, never pushy) with prospective clients
  • Must speak English fluently
  • Must have appreciation and respect for a white glove, premium service like ours. We are luxury as a service and you will represent our brand to prospective clients.

Preferred Skills:

  • Consultative, non-pushy selling - the prospective client comes first
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptable - this is a rapidly growing business, after all, and things change
  • Takes initiative

Software:

  • Google Workplace (for email)
  • Zoom (for consultations)
  • Calendly (for scheduling)
  • HubSpot (CRM)
  • Slack (for team communications)
