Job description
Our customer is a large United States insurance company that is backed by more than 100 years of experience and provides insurance products and services for businesses and professionals in the United States., Canada and Europe. Headquartered in Chicago, IL, they have more than 20 US locations.
We are seeking a Container Security Engineer on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote.
As a Container Security Engineer, you know how to implement and secure industry-leading container technologies that meet the security team needs and take advantage of Google Cloud capabilities while enabling Agility. The Engineer will apply specialized knowledge of container security and orchestration to develop security solutions in multi-cloud environments and protect data across clouds and platforms. You'll work on a dynamic, cross-functional team and employ automation and cybersecurity best practices in ASM/Istio and Google Kubernetes Engine. You'll also coordinate with architecture, developers, DevOps and industry leading vendors to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate the teams goals and objectives into a plan that will enable secure and effective cloud-hosted solution powered by Google. You'll have the chance to work within a secure environment to create and manage cloud native solutions on Google Cloud to provide to you the opportunity to explore different ways of solving organizational problems. You'll partner with stakeholders and the cloud security team to deliver the right technical solution(s). With mentoring, challenging hands-on problem-solving, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, they focus on growing as a team to provide the best solutions for the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 8 years of technical experience in the security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications and network protocols or an equivalent combination.
- Experience with containers, orchestration solutions, and cloud managed Kubernetes services such as Google Kubernetes Engine
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating container security solutions
- Experience using, managing, and securing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline solutions using GitHub Actions / Workflows
- Experience with IaaC concepts and tools, including Terraform, Ansible. Demonstrable work experience coding IaaC solutions.
- Experience with the Prisma Cloud tool for CWPP
- Experience with Wiz for CWPP (Highly Desirable)
- Experience with scripting languages to automate tasks such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell, and configuration automation tools, including Ansible, Salt Stack and Puppet
- Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, including threats, vulnerabilities, security operations, encryption, boundary defense, auditing, authentication, and supply chain risk management
- Knowledge of secure configuration guidelines, including DoD STIGs and CIS benchmarks
- Knowledge of NIST guidelines for container security
- Experience drafting and creating migration plans from one platform to another. Requirements gathering and analysis.
- Experience drafting security playbooks.
- Splunk Experience highly desirable
- A Certified Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer, Kubernetes Security Specialist and/or Kubernetes Administrator highly preferred.
