Job description

Can you talk to Moms?
Have you developed direct to consumer marketing content?
Want to be part of a mission driven company changing children’s lives?
Have you taken complex, and sensitive topics, like helping a parent
understand what to do when a child struggles with reading, and made it easy
to understand and compelling to act?
Have you or your family members had a child with learning difficulties?

If so, we have the job for you….

BACKGROUND ON US
We provide provides a direct-to-consumer end-to-end reading solution for young
children struggling with early reading, including children with dyslexia. Our Center is a dyslexia and reading screener, used in schools across 25 states, identifies whether a child is at risk for dyslexia and other reading difficulties — even before they formally learn to read — and in the window when intervention is most effective. And our game- based skill-building intervention program teaches the critical pre-reading skills essential for learning to read. We offer families the benefits of a comprehensive tutoring program, in a convenient, engaging tablet-based game for children. Our near term goals are to ensure families can find, understand, and adopt our products with ease.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Team is looking for a part-time, experienced writer and storyteller to
help us create cornerstone, evergreen content on topics that answer our potential
customers’ most critical questions. Ultimately, this will help us grow our organic search presence and provide immediate value for our customers.

WHO YOU ARE
- Storyteller: You have the ability to take complex topics and make them clear and enticing for the average reader, while finding the angle of the story that captivates.
- SEO-experienced: Equally as important is a deep understanding of search engine optimization and writing in ways that benefit search algorithms so that families and parents can find our team when they need us.
- Writer for many media forms: You are able to write and tell stories on multiple
media and channels including long form and short form articles, social media posts and video scripts.
- Direct to consumer experience: You know how to write for a consumer audience, (parents and caregivers in our case).
- Flexible: You are used to working with startups and new concepts and ideas, where there is no trodden path.
- Lived Experience: bonus points if you are a parent or caregiver who knows what it is like to care deeply for the well being of a child and to navigate complex pathways to get what they need.
- Organized: You will need to manage the brainstorming, creation, and revision
process of each content piece to ensure subject matter expert (SME) approval,
message alignment, and any fact checking required.
