Job description
The Mom Project is excited to partner with a client looking for a dedicated Contract Attorney to support their brand development and marketing agency, which is focused on helping women-led businesses refine their brands for growth. This is a remote position, allowing for flexibility and the opportunity to work with a team that values creativity, integrity, and collaboration.
The Contract Attorney will be responsible for drafting and reviewing a variety of legal documents essential to our operations, including client contracts, independent contractor agreements, and website terms and conditions for selling consultation services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract law, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to provide clear, strategic legal advice to support our business needs.
Core Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and revise client contracts, ensuring they align with our business objectives and mitigate risk.
- Create independent contractor agreements that protect our interests while fostering positive relationships with our freelance partners.
- Develop and maintain terms and conditions for our website, particularly for the sale of consultation calls and other services.
- Provide strategic legal advice on contract-related issues, anticipating potential legal challenges and suggesting proactive solutions.
- Ensure that all legal documents are compliant with applicable laws and regulations, minimizing exposure to legal risks.
- Collaborate closely with our management team to understand business needs and translate them into clear, enforceable agreements.
- Stay updated on relevant legislative changes that may impact our contracts and advise accordingly.
Qualifications/Skills
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Contract Attorney, with a focus on business contracts and agreements.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, including independent contractor agreements and website terms and conditions.
- Baseline understanding of branding and marketing services and/or understanding of the agency working model strongly preferred
- Ability to draft clear, concise, and legally sound contracts that align with business objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in an understandable way.
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Juris Doctorate and active bar license in any U.S. state.
