Job description

Title: Deposition Attorney
Location: 100% Remote
Hours per week: minimum 15 hrs/wk, option to build to 40 hrs/wk if desired
Hourly range: $60 - $100/hr, commensurate with experience
Requirement: Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois

Insurance Defense firm has an immediate need for deposition attorneys.
Admission to practice in Illinois is required. Secondary admission to the Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Washington, Oregon, and/or Texas bar will be given preference. Our firm’s expertise is diverse, but focused in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, general and professional liability.

This position requires experience taking depositions, precision in legal writing, and a professional demeanor. Candidates must be hard-working, motivated, and capable of independent work. Candidate must also have excellent analytical and critical reasoning skills, must possess the ability to think on their feet and respond strategically, and have a client focused mentality.

Position responsibilities include:

  1. Conduct depositions.
  2. Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
  3. Maintain accurate time records.
The ideal candidate will possess 2-10 years of attorney experience. Candidate should be proficient in MS office applications (word, excel, outlook) and Adobe Acrobat. They should be self-motivated, organized, and able to problem-solve and strategize effectively. They should have experience with legal procedures and processes related to case management, depositions, and testimony,

The ideal candidate should be able to dedicate a minimum of 15 hours per week with the option to build to full time (40 hours per week).
