You are a Controller / Sr. Accounting Manager who has experience managing lean and highly impactful teams. You have a strong desire to work within an organization where there is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day. You are able to pivot naturally from 10,000 feet to 10 feet and grow effective teams and processes.
This is a unique opportunity to be a high-impact early member of The Mom Project, and to build out scalable foundations for our Finance Operation. Reporting directly to our CFO, you’ll have the opportunity to work on all components of The Mom Project’s finance function, with direct ownership primarily over technical finance.
About the Role
•Plan, implement and supervise the company's technical financial strategy
• Expertise in managing high volume invoice and payment processes, aggregating information from disparate sources.
•Hire, train and manage staff
•Manage the company's financial accounts, payrolls, budget, cash receipts and financial assets
•Perform the company's financial audits
•Follow proper accounting procedures to reach financial objectives
•Create financial reports based on data analysis
•Financial partner to business stakeholders
•Working closely with the sales team, contracted talent, and customers on various billing related issues
•Identify process and system improvements to streamline the revenue cycle
•Provide sales and billing reports to upper management as needed
•Maintain the general ledger in Quickbooks by importing and categorizing expenses to the proper account and department
•Oversee and complete month-end close processes (such as reconciliations and journal entries) and year end items (such as pulling W-9 information for 1099 filings).
Requirements:
•Accounting and Finance Experience: CPA required.
•BA in Accounting / Finance; 7+ years’ experience in professional accounting departments
•Familiarity with our operational stack, which includes Quickbooks Online, Bill.com, ADP and Expensify.
