We are seeking a Controllership Senior Associate, Financial Reporting on a contract basis to help support our Customer's ongoing business needs. This role is onsite in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) financial statements filed with the SEC, including support workpapers for internal and external audit review
- Support other external reporting requirements, such as annual proxy statement, quarterly earnings release, supplemental slides, etc.
- Participate in XBRL tagging efforts
- Support quarterly global balance sheet analytics process, working closely with global business segment leaders
- Own certain global corporate accounting processes; record journal entries to reflect current period activity
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Assist with other projects and initiatives on an ad-hoc basis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience
- CPA required (or CPA in progress)
- Prior work experience at Big Four or regional accounting firm a plus
- Prior work experience at one or more SEC registrants with international operations preferred
- Experience performing accounting/financial reporting disclosure research in Intelligize or similar tool
- Experience with OneStream or other consolidation tools a plus
- Demonstrated superior multi-tasking skills, adaptability and ability to operate independently in a constantly-changing environment
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Self-motivated problem solver who is eager to learn
- Comfortable challenging the status quo by identifying potential process improvements and championing change initiatives
Preferred:
- Experience in a facilities management or property management environment
- Familiarity with vendor management concepts
- Basic knowledge of building operations and maintenance
- Experience with data entry and database management
- Understanding of health and safety practices in a workplace setting
- Exposure to scheduling and coordination software
