JOB DESCRIPTION

We're seeking a dynamic Senior Copywriter to develop compelling copy and content for product launches, seller education, and other marketing initiatives geared toward helping Etsy shop owners succeed. Collaborate with Product Marketing and other teams across Etsy to shape impactful content for email, the Seller Handbook blog, our community spaces, and more. You’ll help create engaging cross-channel plans and bring them to life for our global community. If you're a skilled Copywriter with at least five years of experience, a knack for campaign planning, and a passion for keeping commerce human, we want you! Let's write the next chapter of Etsy's success story together. This contract will go through December 20, 2024, and open to remote work (on standard East Coast business hours).

About the team

Etsy’s Brand Content team is part of the Brand Marketing and Communications department. We bring our brand to life throughout the buyer and seller journeys. Our writing is not only informative, supportive, and persuasive, but captures the imagination and fun of Etsy’s brand—and the human side of e-commerce. We help millions of sellers around the world start and run successful creative businesses, and connect them with buyers looking for special items made by real people. We're passionate about Etsy’s mission to keep commerce human and that passion drives everything we do.

If you join us, here are some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Serve as Seller copy lead for product launches and lifecycle marketing initiatives:
    • Help shape and execute cross-channel content plans (including writing marketing emails and educational content) to support strategies for product launches and ongoing product promotion, using data and research to inform decisions and partnering with other content creators to bring your plan to life
    • Manage content production schedule, documentation, and communications with key stakeholders across our team
    • Produce launch and ongoing marketing content for various channels as needed, including email, Seller Handbook, in-product, and social (both static and video formats)
    • Manage content approvals (including legal reviews) and submissions to translations
    • Track, analyze, and report on results
  • Write and edit seller content in support of broader marketing campaigns, including key retail moments, and channel-specific activations such as email newsletters, social posts, and scripts for educational videos
  • Pitch in on editing/reviewing content created by other content team members and partners as needed
  • Work with the Research and Marketing team to conduct research and identify industry trends and insights that inform content strategy

A bit more about you:

  • You have 5+ years of professional copywriting and editing experience, preferably for a brand or agency.
  • You have a proven track record of successfully planning and writing content for marketing campaigns and/or helping to facilitate product launches.
  • You have experience working in a variety of marketing channels and formats, including email, video scripts, landing pages, and the product experience.
  • You can translate complex tech and business concepts into clear, conversational, and engaging writing with a strong, consistent voice.
  • You’re able to successfully collaborate with everyone from marketing team members to product managers to designers.
  • You’re familiar with content management systems and analytics platforms.
  • You have excellent judgment and can make insightful decisions about copy based on data and research.
  • You’re organized and focused, but also flexible and open to change.
