Job description
Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.
Our Customer is looking for a Copywriter on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role will work in the internal marketing agency of a major financial services company. You’ll be involved in a wide range of interesting projects. This role is 100% remote, Milwaukee, WI or NYC is preferred.
What You'll Do:
- Work on scripts for new brand campaigns
- Partner with a designer and run with social media and other ad hoc projects
- Create content for a huge force of advisors to use and post
- Do some creative concepting
- Do kickoff calls and get briefs from producers
Qualifications:
- You have 5-7 years of experience as a copywriter in advertising, preferably with some savvy in engaging audiences on social media
- You’re able to look at financial brands from a fresh angle
- You know how to write safe and simple copy and you know how to write riskier copy
- You can create concepts for brand campaigns, outdoor, digital, social, landing pages, emails—plus partnerships with professional sports teams
- You can successfully collaborate with Designers, Art Directors, Creative Producers, and the Insights team—and understand the benefits in doing so
- You can create advertising for consumer-facing audiences and also for the massive financial advisor network (B to B)
- You can take complex products and services and transform them into digestible, compelling language and ideas
- You’re able to present your work to stakeholders at all levels
- You see the bigger picture and take unexpected approaches to bringing the brand vision to life
- You can offer productive feedback to external ad agencies
