Job description

The Mom Project is excited to support Etsy with their search for a Corporate Affairs and Community Engagement Specialist to join them on a contract basis.


About The Role

The Corporate Affairs and Community Engagement [Coordinator/Specialist] will support Etsy’s corporate affairs and community engagement initiatives, focusing on reputation management, seller mobilization, and advocacy support. This role will be instrumental in crafting compelling narratives that highlight Etsy’s economic empowerment efforts and the seller journey, while executing projects that align Etsy’s public policy and impact strategies with its seller community’s needs. The ideal candidate will bring strong storytelling and writing skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities. This is a contractor position, open to remote candidates, with a preference for those based in the NYC area.


Responsibilities:

  • Reputation & Community Engagement

  • Assist in fostering relationships with Etsy’s seller community through targeted engagement and communication strategies.
  • Help craft and share impactful stories about Etsy’s role as a corporate citizen and its commitment to supporting sellers.
  • Public Policy & Advocacy Support

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for advocacy initiatives, including preparation of materials for government and policymaker audiences.
  • Support the development of content that communicates Etsy’s public policy positions and advocacy efforts.
  • Seller Mobilization & Advocacy

  • Support efforts to engage and mobilize Etsy sellers on advocacy and policy issues through compelling storytelling and engagement strategies.
  • Coordinate logistics for advocacy-related events and seller participation in meetings.
  • Draft and review communications for seller engagement on advocacy initiatives, ensuring alignment with Etsy’s voice and values.
  • Partnerships & Economic Empowerment Initiatives

  • Collaborate with team members to identify and support partnership opportunities that highlight Etsy’s economic empowerment work.
  • Develop narratives showcasing the impact of these initiatives, focusing on seller success stories and community-driven outcomes.
  • Seller Community Support

  • Assist in implementing Etsy’s National Disaster Resilience Framework (NDRF), including stakeholder coordination and program activation.
  • Create and share stories that reflect the resilience and creativity of Etsy’s seller community.



    Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in corporate affairs, public policy, government relations, or community engagement.
  • Strong storytelling and writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling narratives tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Experience creating content that communicates complex issues in an accessible way.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage cross-functional projects.
  • Familiarity with economic empowerment themes or small business advocacy is a plus.

    Hours and Location
  • Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week
  • Hybrid - 1-2x/week in Brooklyn, NY
