Job description

The ideal candidate should possess excellent writing and communication abilities, along with the capacity to learn and utilize Westlaw for legal research and analysis. Experience or understanding of drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery is essential, as well as a robust comprehension of civil court procedures and deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct legal research to provide valuable assistance to attorneys on cases.
  2. Draft, review, and edit legal documents and contracts for accuracy and clarity.
  3. Communicate trial schedules and related information to involved parties.
  4. Collect, organize, and summarize case materials.
  5. Update and manage court calendars and schedules.
  6. Assist in the management of cases within state and federal courts.
  7. Prepare notices, motions, and legal documents with accuracy and proper formatting.
  8. Coordinate discovery processes, including document production and verification.
  9. Draft and file settlement-related notices and forms.
  10. Collaborate with management and perform assigned tasks.
  11. Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents and managing cases.
  12. Participate in deposition and trial preparation.
  13. Manage deadlines and calendars.
  14. Maintain client files and communicate with clients and court clerks.
  15. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, file organization, and document management.
  16. Undertake special projects and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years of experience in a law firm.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree and completion of an accredited paralegal program.
  3. Paralegal Certification
  4. Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (XLS), Word, and PDF formatting and formula skills
  5. Experience with EDGAR and EFD filing systems/access
  6. Strong understanding of civil procedures and deadlines.
  7. Ability to learn and use WestLaw and other online research and filing applications.
  8. Experience and knowledge of drafting legal documents.
  9. Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, as well as possess strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  10. Technological competency and an understanding of AI utilization in workflows.
  11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, online research databases, DocuSign, and relevant applications/systems.
  12. Familiarity with legal document formatting and filing.
  13. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  14. High degree of self-accountability and ownership.
  15. Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously.
  16. Proficiency in legal document formatting and filing.
  17. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  18. Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
