Job description

Our customer is seeking to fill a Counsel, Music & Copyright position. This role can 100% remote, but candidates must be based in EST. The Counsel, Music & Copyright will work with the NY based global music team, which is a part of our customer's larger IP team.
Responsibilities
- Support the music legal team in executing their global music licensing strategy across labels, publishers, and collective management organizations
- Draft and negotiate agreements with music industry stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams – product, finance, tax, policy, regulatory, privacy, risk management - to ensure they're advancing and protecting the business
- Lawyer, qualified to practice in the US
- 7+ years of copyright or digital licensing experience, including hands-on experience negotiating agreements with record labels, music publishers and/or music collective management organizations
- Experience communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills and proactive, collaborative work ethic
- Willingness to work internationally, across time zones
Preferred Qualifications
- In-house experience at a technology or product-led company
- Experience working internationally, across time zone
- Commercial awareness, and exceptional business judgment
- Proven track record of strategic and creative thinking
- Experience prioritizing and working under pressure
