Job description

The Mom Project is excited to support Etsy with their search for an experienced Social Content Designer to join their team on a contract basis.

Etsy is seeking a Social Content Designer to design and build compelling visual assets for paid social campaigns and programs. Bringing an exceptional eye for design, typography, color, and composition, you’ll translate creative concepts into engaging visual content that connects with multiple buyer audiences across platforms. Reporting to the Director, Paid Social Content, you’ll leverage your deep social expertise and eye for merchandising to create compelling, shoppable content that elevates the best of Etsy across categories.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce compelling visual content, including graphics, static assets and animations for social media platforms, including Meta and Pinterest
  • Collaborate with producers and our in-house video/creator team to develop and execute visual concepts for paid social campaigns
  • Build and deliver engaging, social-native assets for paid formats, ensuring content meets the campaign brief and is tailored to platform best practices
  • Ideate and develop visual content that is tailored to engage multiple buyer audiences, including GenZ, Millennials and beyond
  • Source, vet and track exceptional Etsy merchandise and product photography for integration in static and video assets
  • Monitor design and social trends, identifying ways to connect them to Etsy
  • Partner with our in-house Brand Design team to source additional photo assets and apply creative toolkits and guidelines to paid content
  • Finalize all visual assets for deployment; organize and upload content for approval and launch
  • Become an expert in Etsy’s brand identity: ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and maintains a cohesive visual identity while meeting platform and paid best practices

Must-haves

  • 3+ years of experience in graphic design and content creation for social media, preferably within the retail or fashion industry, with recent experience specifically across paid social campaigns and formats
  • Deep knowledge of the social media landscape: you’re immersed in social content trends and channel dynamics with a pulse on cultural conversations
  • A strong aesthetic sense and an eye for art direction and visual merchandising
  • A creative portfolio demonstrating a passion for design and fluency in visual communication on social
  • An understanding of paid measurement and a demonstrated track record of optimizing creative based on performance insights
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; can juggle multiple projects simultaneously across different channels and campaigns under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva is a must

Hours and Location

  • 40 hours per week
  • This hybrid role must be available to work out of Brooklyn office as needed (minimum 1x per week)
