Job description
Our Customer is an American worldwise clothing and accessories retailer, founded in 1969. Over the last 50 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with seven brands. Their clothes are availabile in 90 countries worldwide through over 3,100 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing.
We are seeking a Creative Designer - Women's Apparel on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is hybrid in NYC (Tribeca).
*Must have a portfolio at the time of submission
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating original concepts that encompass style, color, and fabric as a result of interpreting fashion trends.
- Produces sketches and may make seasonal presentations of proposed designs.
- Analyzes fashion trends.
- Partners with sourcing and materials development.
- May provide basic fit and body block information and attend fit sessions.
- Typically reports to the Design Director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience.
- Related design experience.
