Job description

· SATURDAY & SUNDAY : FLEXIBLE PM HOURS (3 PER DAY)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Background Screening Analyst to join our growing team ASAP. In this role, you will be confirming dispositions for criminal records by looking the record up on the court’s website. You will be responsible for verifying the accuracy and validity of criminal background reports. You’ll analyze data returned from national, state, and county-level searches to determine if offenses are legally reportable and accurately matched to the applicant. You’ll also support applicants by answering questions and clarifying background screening results in a professional and empathetic manner.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of public records, an analytical mindset, and a commitment to compliance and fairness.

Key Responsibilities

· Review and analyze criminal background check data at the federal, state, and county levels.

· Verify identities by cross-referencing personal identifiers (e.g., name, DOB, SSN) against court records and public sources.

· Determine whether returned offenses are valid, applicable, and reportable under company guidelines and applicable laws (e.g., FCRA).

· Navigate online court portals and public databases to locate case-level detail when necessary.

· Communicate with internal stakeholders to escalate ambiguous or high-risk reports for further review.

· Respond to applicant-facing support requests related to their criminal background reports with clarity and professionalism.

· Maintain detailed documentation and audit trails of verification processes and final determinations.

· Collaborate with the product and compliance teams to improve screening processes and SOPs.

Qualifications

· 1–3 years of experience in background screening, legal research, compliance, criminal justice, or a related field.

· Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.

· Familiarity with criminal justice terminology, court systems, and public records tools.

· Demonstrated ability to assess data accuracy and relevance in sensitive, high-stakes contexts.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to manage confidential information in compliance with privacy and security standards.

· Knowledge of FCRA, EEOC guidelines, and fair housing laws is a strong plus.

All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States and are required to have U.S. residency at the time of application.
