Our Customer is seeking a Criminal Law Attorney on a contract basis to draft various forms within their practice area. This role is 100% remote in IL.

This position will require reviewing and updating practical guidance and templates, an online legal product for attorneys, and creating new content, as needed. This is a contract position involving flexible hours (assignments can be completed as your schedule permits, as long as the deadline is met).

Part-time, 5-15 hours/week.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and revise practical guidance templates on criminal law documents.
  • Review and update motions, affidavits, and other related criminal law documents.
  • Supplement existing documents with state-specific, “how-to” practical guidance based on state law, local custom, and legal practice experience

Must-haves:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school
  • 3+ years of experience as a practicing criminal law attorney
  • Member, in good standing, of the Illinois State Bar
  • Substantive experience drafting motions, affidavits, and other related criminal law documents.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and legal research skills
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Word with track changes and conducting online research
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to complete assigned projects by prescribed deadlines
  • Organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage tasks effectively
