Job description

Our Customer is a technology company that connects people with the best of their neighborhoods across the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Germany. They enable local businesses to meet consumers’ needs of ease and convenience, and, in turn, generate new ways for people to earn, work, and live. By building the last-mile logistics infrastructure for local commerce, they’re fulfilling their mission to grow and empower local economies.

We are seeking a Customer Experience Specialist on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is on-site in the Manhattan area.

We’re looking for a hands-on, people-first leader with strong operational acumen and the ability to perform under high-pressure environments to serve as a Customer Experience Specialist as they pilot a new suite of service offerings. In this role, you’ll support high-priority initiatives, stabilize operations, and provide leadership as needed. This is a dynamic position ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves to lead teams, and enjoys solving problems on the ground. There's no such thing as a typical day, and to excel, you can't just be smart – you have to be self-motivated, have exceptional interpersonal & relationship-building skills, and be analytical. We're looking for strong performers who can move fast to get things done and have a natural aptitude for blending creativity and analytics to devise innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Own Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring fulfillment of new services runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. Monitor performance, identify root causes of inefficiencies, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Drive Process Improvements: Use data and insights to design and execute improvements to workflows, team structures, and fulfillment practices.
  • Manage: Create and own workflows that keep launch projects on track from beginning to end to build a successful business foundation.
  • Support Growth and Change: Partner with cross-functional teams to support growth initiatives, training programs, special projects, market expansion efforts, and share insights on key learnings from coverage assignments.
  • Build: Generate new business by exploring growth opportunities with new and current use-cases for the marketplace and other verticals.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • You’re organized and proficient in using Google Suite.
  • You can handle triaging multiple tasks at once and thrive under pressure.
  • You’re a strong communicator.
  • You clearly articulate directions and may have experience in a customer-facing or management role.
  • You’re a self-starter.
  • You have a bias towards action and are able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment.
  • You’re a problem solver.
  • You have a talent for synthesizing complex projects, can independently translate high-level goals into actionable plans, and enjoy implementing processes.
  • You’re naturally curious.
  • You always look for ways to innovate and improve.
  • You’re determined.
  • You roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to make things successful.
  • You’re a relationship-builder. You can influence and motivate people at all levels across a variety of job functions.

Preferred:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher, or are currently pursuing one
  • You have 1+ years of experience in sales, consulting, strategy, business development, operations, technology, banking, analytics, early-stage startups, or related experience
  • Demonstrable success leading initiatives, establishing and achieving goals, and succeeding in a team environment
  • You have success executing business development opportunities or negotiating partnerships
