We are seeking a Data Analyst on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs.


The main function of a data analyst is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database, applying knowledge of database management systems. A typical database analyst/programmer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database.


This role is 100% remote.



Responsibilities:

  • Test programs or databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications.
  • Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes.
  • Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of the database to the management system, or direct others in coding descriptions.
  • Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
  • Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate the time and cost required to accomplish the project.


Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training
  • 5+ years of work experience
  • Programming Efficiency: Skilled in creating solutions for complex data challenges using programming and scripting languages like SQL and Python.
  • Data Analysis and Storytelling: Proficient in interpreting and deriving meaningful insights from both quantitative and qualitative data, and effectively communicating those insights in a clear and concise manner.
  • Setting Goals and Success Metrics: Capable of defining clear objectives, analyzing data, and comprehending product requirements to guide business decisions and enhance product outcomes.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
  • Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
  • Knowledge of database management software.


Qualifications:

  • Data Visualization Expertise: Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to effectively communicate insights and findings to stakeholders.
  • Organization skills and timeline completion, good reporting skills.
  • Analytics/Metric Framework: Experience designing consistent and scalable analytics frameworks for open-ended questions.
