Our Customer is an American computer and consumer electronics company famous for creating phones and computers. Although this company was founded in 1976 it has transformed how we connect and communicate worldwide.

We are seeking a Data Annotation Specialist on a contract basis to join the Data Annotation team. The Data Annotation team is responsible for working closely with R&D to scope projects, create the templates and guidelines, kick off the project, and ensure the quality of the annotations meets or exceeds expectations. In this role you will need to work closely with the Data Annotation Project Managers to help them with prototyping, annotating small projects, writing guidelines, and other annotation management tasks. This role is 100% remote.

What You’ll Do:

  • Comprehend the overall purpose of an annotation task based on requirements
  • Prototype and support of small annotation projects
  • Conduct Time Per Task (TPT) metric gathering to assist in estimating the cost of projects
  • Create thorough guidelines/instructions on annotation workflows
  • Annotate, categorize, and check the quality of annotated data (including text)
  • Provide feedback and identify improvements concerning processes and tools
  • Recommend changes to improve efficiency
  • Assist in archiving and documenting finished projects

Must Haves:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a professional environment with much of that time in a Data Annotation/Quality Assurance role
  • Excellent English-language oral and written communication skills
  • Previous data annotation experience
  • Self-motivating with the ability to work independently and with little supervision
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Good critical thinking, with an eye for detail and for continuous optimization (quality, cost efficiency)
  • Ability to perform repeating annotation tasks with consistency, quality, and speed
  • Ability to recognize differences between images
  • Native speaker in one of the following languages: Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, or Arabic
  • Superior time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly demanding, constantly changing environment
  • Ability to deliver multiple projects of varying lengths, while meeting quality standards and deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to ask questions when guidelines are not clear enough
  • Ability to independently navigate systems and tools

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Hours & Location:

  • M-F, 40 hours/week. This role is 100% remote.
