Job description
***Please note, that all applicants applying for US job openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States.***
Our Customer is a technology company that connects people with the best of their neighborhoods across the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Germany. They enable local businesses to meet consumers’ needs of ease and convenience, and, in turn, generate new ways for people to earn, work, and live. By building the last-mile logistics infrastructure for local commerce, they’re fulfilling our mission to grow and empower local economies.
They are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and build the data foundation for their B2B marketing in HubSpot. In this role, you will own the data model that connects the people, accounts, locations, and other records they market to. That model determines who their campaigns can target. You will also load data from their warehouse and other source systems into HubSpot and keep those syncs running and accurate. You will work closely with the Campaign Architect, whose Iterable-to-HubSpot migration depends on having the right properties, events, and associations in place.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the design of the HubSpot data model, including objects, custom objects, associations, and association labels for many-to-many relationships.
- Make and document the design decisions.
- Agree on source-of-truth tables, definitions, and refresh schedules with data engineering and analytics.
- Build and maintain syncs from the warehouse into HubSpot using Hightouch or native integrations.
- Map source fields to HubSpot properties, and define keys, deduplication rules, and update logic for each sync.
- Monitor sync health, with alerts for failures, volume changes, and schema changes. Fix issues quickly.
- Own data quality end to end, covering deduplication, standardization, validation, enrichment, and automated cleanup.
- Plan and run the move of Iterable user attributes, events, and subscription status into HubSpot.
- Set data governance standards, including access controls, consent fields, retention rules, and PII handling.
- Document the model, field mappings, and runbooks, and keep them current.
Required Skills
- 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, marketing operations, or revenue operations, including 2+ years working hands-on with HubSpot data.
- Has designed a HubSpot data model with custom objects and associations, and knows the platform limits that affect design.
- Advanced SQL, including profiling, transforming, and validating data in a warehouse such as Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience with reverse ETL (Hightouch, Census) and ETL/ELT tools (Fivetran, dbt, Airflow).
- Working knowledge of REST APIs and webhooks, including the HubSpot CRM and Associations APIs.
- Has led a large data migration that preserved relationships between records.
- Clear documentation habits and the ability to explain data concepts to marketers.
- Preferred Skills B2B go-to-market experience Python or JavaScript scripting HubSpot Data Hub and data quality automation
- HubSpot certifications
- Modeling account hierarchies, multi-location customers, or partner networks
- Salesforce alongside HubSpot Pipeline monitoring or testing tools
- Privacy regulations for marketing data (CCPA, GDPR, CAN-SPAM)
