We are seeking a Derivatives Analyst on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site and 2 days remote/week) in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities:
Operations
- Provide timely and accurate support for derivative trade activity, lifecycle management, settlements, and third-party messaging to custodians, fund accounting agents, and other stakeholders
- Affirm and confirm trades using internal and external applications while monitoring technology systems to ensure accurate and timely lifecycle processing
- Liaise with front office teams, brokers, custodians, vendors, clients, and internal departments to resolve trade, lifecycle, and reporting issues
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve trade fails throughout the trade lifecycle
- Perform oversight of vendors handling outsourced derivative processes such as trade capture, confirmation, settlement, variation margin, reporting, and collateral
- Utilize internal, custodian, fund accounting, and third-party systems to research and resolve inquiries and exceptions
- Support internal and external projects, testing initiatives, regulatory reporting requirements, client requests, and audit-related activities
- Maintain and update procedures and ensure adherence to documentation and archiving standards
Industry & Regulatory Support
- Participate in ongoing learning to deepen understanding of derivatives, technology trends, and the regulatory environment
- Attend internal service meetings, committees, and working groups as required
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, math, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience
- 1-3 years of experience in the investment industry
- Working knowledge of exchange-traded derivatives (ETD), cleared and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives, collateral processes, and lifecycle events
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills across diverse teams and vendors
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to make quick decisions, prioritize work, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Ability to analyze numerical data with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Commitment to continuous process improvement
- Willingness to pursue ongoing professional development and industry training
Working Conditions

- Regular work schedule with flexibility required based on daily trade activity, projects, or assignments
- Occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work depending on market and business demands
