Fashion Designer (Tribeca - NYC)

Our Customer is an American worldwise clothing and accessories retailer, founded in 1969. Over the last 50 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with seven brands. Their clothes are availabile in 90 countries worldwide through over 3,100 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing.

We are seeking a Designer on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is 100% on-site in NYC (Tribeca).

Responsibilities:

• Excellent communication skills, strong sketching ability, and the technical expertise to independently lead fittings and develop tech packs.
• The ideal candidate should also have design experience in fleece, knits, sport, and swimwear.
• Responsible for creating original concepts that encompass style, color and fabric as a result of interpreting fashion trends.
• Produces sketches and may make seasonal presentations of proposed designs.
• Analyzes fashion trends.
• Partners with sourcing and materials development.
• May provide basic fit and body block information and attend fit sessions.
• Typically reports to Design Director.
• Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience.
• Related design experience.
