Job description

This position is for a Proofer, Independent Contractor (Remote) where you will be proofing content for manuals in the aviation industry.

Required Skills

• Tech Savvy and has a good understanding of computers

• Experience in Adobe Acrobat Pro *software is required*

• Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite especially in Microsoft Word

• Strong vocabulary with outstanding spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills

• Ability to multitask while performing high quality work with attention to detail

• Aviation experience preferred but not required

• Able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week


Here are some tasks/items you can expect to do in your role:

• Work with other Publishers/Proofers to complete projects and various tasks with high accuracy and adhere to deadlines

• Majority of our quick turnaround work we do for clients, happens during 6:00 AM – 8 :00 PM CST, so the ability to accept assignments during this time is ideal

• Complete proofing within company time standards

• Uploading various formats of manuals into our system

• Proofread manuals behind publishers to ensure accuracy

• Standardize manuals following client guidelines

• Handle change and special requests from clients

• Update existing documents and manuals

• Fully reformat manuals to a new template

• Communicate to clients when needed
