Job description

About the Company

We’re a new media company launching a map-driven guide to downtown NYC’s art scene. Think Time Out meets Google Maps for galleries, exhibitions, and neighborhood culture. We cover eight downtown neighborhoods and help people discover art without the gatekeeping. Our small team includes an editor-in-chief, photographer, developer, designer, and social media manager—and we’re looking for someone to serve as the operational backbone keeping our digital systems running smoothly.

Position Summary

We need a detail-obsessed digital editor to keep our content management systems, databases, and photo library organized and up to date. This role is part data entry, part digital asset management, part editorial operations—and entirely essential. You’ll work roughly two hours a day on your own schedule, and your work directly makes the rest of the team faster and better.

Responsibilities

  • Enter, update, and maintain venue profiles, exhibition listings, and event information in our CMS, ensuring everything is accurate, current, and consistently formatted
  • Organize, tag, and maintain our photo database so images are properly labeled, attributed, and easy for the team to find and use
  • Keep our CRM clean and current—updating contacts, logging outreach, and tracking partnership and sponsor communications
  • Help manage and update the editorial calendar so the team always knows what’s publishing, what’s in progress, and what’s coming up
  • Handle light administrative tasks that keep operations running smoothly—think of yourself as the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks

Qualifications

Must-haves:

  • Strong organizational skills and genuine attention to detail
  • Comfort with digital tools—CMS platforms, CRMs, spreadsheets, photo management software (specific tools can be learned on the job)
  • Self-directed and reliable; able to manage your own time and deliver without daily oversight
  • Located in the NYC metro area (the five boroughs, Long Island, New Jersey, Westchester—all fine)

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with Sanity, our content management system
  • Experience with Attio, our CRM
  • Interest in art, culture, or the downtown NYC scene

Why This Role Works for Your Life

  • Truly flexible hours
  • Mostly remote with only occasional in-person time in downtown Manhattan
  • Meaningful work at a mission-driven startup making art more accessible
  • A small, supportive team that respects your time and trusts you to get the job done

Details

Hours: 8–12 hours/week, flexible scheduling (roughly 2 hours/day)

Location: Hybrid—mostly remote, occasional in-person in downtown NYC

Start date: As soon as possible

Travel: None required
