Job description
Our Customer is an American worldwise clothing and accessories retailer, founded in 1969. Over the last 50 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with seven brands. Their clothes are availabile in 90 countries worldwide through over 3,100 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing.
We are seeking a Digital Storyteller & Content Creator on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is on-site in San Francisco, CA.
This role is a multi-skilled, social-native storyteller with expertise in culture, creativity, and platform-native content. This hands-on role is responsible for concepting, shooting, editing, and designing visually compelling content across corporate social channels and emerging platforms. The position requires a strong sense of cultural fluency, the ability to act quickly on trends, and a passion for people-centered storytelling that resonates with diverse audiences.
Responsibilities:
Content Creation
- Produce social-optimized content ranging from behind-the-scenes clips to branded campaigns, series, and lo-fi, platform-native moments.
- Concept, storyboard, and pitch creative ideas that align with cultural moments, events, brand campaigns, and company priorities.
- Execute shoots on-location, in-studio, or on-the-go with strong skills in natural lighting, framing, and composition.
- Conduct interviews with talent to create authentic, people-centered content, building trust and capturing compelling stories.
Editing & Post-Production
- Edit video and photo content for TikTok, Reels, and other digital platforms.
- Apply motion graphics, captions, transitions, and visual effects to optimize for performance by channel.
- Deliver high-quality edits quickly and independently.
Social-First Design
- Design static and motion assets such as carousels, infographics, and motion titles that feel native to each platform.
- Translate creative briefs into visuals that are authentic, culturally relevant, and on-brand.
Platform & Trend Fluency
- Monitor social and cultural trends, audience behavior, and emerging creator styles to identify untapped opportunities.
- Test new tools, formats, and creative approaches to enhance engagement, reach, and storytelling.
Qualifications:
- 3–6 years of experience in social-first content creation for a brand, agency, or media company.
- Strong portfolio showcasing videography, photography, editing, and social design across platforms.
- Deep understanding of the social media landscape and ability to optimize content for platform-specific performance.
- Skilled interviewer with a passion for people-centered storytelling.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, and CapCut.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Willingness to travel and work off-hours for events and campaigns.
Preferred:
- Experience with UGC-style campaigns or influencer partnerships.
- Fluency in fashion, entertainment, or purpose-driven storytelling.
- Experience with mobile-first content creation and motion graphics.
