Each year, our Customer helps more than seven million students prepare for a successful transition to college through programs and services in college readiness and college success—including the SAT, the Advanced Placement Program, and BigFuture. The organization also serves the education community through research and advocacy on behalf of students, educators, and schools.
We are seeking a Director, K-12, Strategic Account Manager (EdTech) on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote.
As the Director, K–12, this role is responsible for driving growth and achieving sales targets for education programs and services within Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Responsibilities include leading the execution of state-level strategy and driving district-level sales by proactively identifying opportunities, advancing stakeholder conversations, and closing agreements that expand program access.
This position collaborates closely with cross-functional internal teams, including higher education and program partners, to ensure a coordinated and strategic approach to district engagement and long-term partnership development.
The Director builds and leverages strong relationships with key decision-makers across schools and districts, aligning solutions with institutional priorities and student needs. Through consultative selling, strategic account management, and disciplined follow-through, this role moves partners from initial interest to long-term commitment.
In addition to territory management, this position contributes to broader regional strategy by helping define priorities, identifying emerging opportunities, and shaping statewide approaches that expand equitable access to educational programs. Success in this role requires a combination of sales expertise, data-driven insights, and compelling communication to drive adoption and meaningful impact.

Responsibilities:
Strategy & Growth (Primary Focus)
- Develop and execute multi-year growth strategies for assigned states, districts, or territories
- Translate regional priorities into actionable account strategies aligned to organizational goals
- Build and maintain structured account planning and business review processes
- Analyze market data, performance trends, and policy environments to inform strategy
- Identify opportunities and deliver data-driven, tailored solutions to drive adoption and growth
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, aligning opportunities with market insights
- Lead consultative sales cycles with district leaders and superintendents to influence long-term adoption
- Conduct executive-level engagements, workshops, and professional development sessions
- Oversee implementation of large-scale partnerships, contracts, and support models
- Drive adoption across education portfolios, including assessment and college readiness programs
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including superintendents, district leaders, and state agencies
- Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to align policy, program, and sales strategies
- Provide coaching and support to junior team members on account strategy and execution
Operations & Execution
- Utilize CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to manage accounts, track the pipeline, and forecast performance
- Lead or support regional and divisional projects
- Manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously with strong organization and follow-through
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Progressive experience in strategic sales, business development, or partnership management, ideally in education technology, K-12 solutions, or related sectors
- Experience in account management for K-12 education, edtech, or college readiness solutions
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding growth and revenue targets
- Strong experience managing complex, multi-year partnerships with districts or state agencies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform strategy and influence decisions
- Proficiency in Salesforce and analytics tools
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including executive-level engagement
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Willingness to travel (less than 20%)
- Passion for education and mission-driven work
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in strategic sales, business development, or partnership management (education or related sectors preferred)
- Experience leading large-scale, consultative sales engagements
- Experience aligning strategy across policy, program, and sales functions
