Job description
The Opportunity & Mission:
We are seeking a technology-forward integrator to serve as the operational engine of the Edison Universe. This role is for a composed leader who thrives on mastering complex systems, architecting digital workflows, and arriving at every challenge with a solution-first mindset.
As Director of Operations, you will leverage AI, HubSpot, and automation to optimize our global platform for innovation, ensuring our programs run with precision, scalability, and proactive energy.
Core Responsibilities
- Systems Integration: Own and optimize our digital ecosystem, specifically HubSpot (CRM/Marketing), Award Force, and Google Workspace to ensure an optimal workflow for both internal employees and external stakeholders. You will manage the complex infrastructure behind multi-phase voting and winner categorization, ensuring data integrity and a seamless user experience.
- Strategic Program Execution: Lead the end-to-end logistics for Edison Award programs. You are responsible for turning high-level plans into flawlessly executed in-person and virtual events while managing related budgets, vendor contracts, and strategic partners.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Serve as the "right hand" to the Chief Executive Officer. You are expected to anticipate bottlenecks, navigate budget complexities (AP/AR), and present actionable, data-driven solutions rather than flagging problems.
- AI Implementation: Lead the integration of AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline communications, and drive efficiencies across the business. You are expected to stay ahead of the curve, sharing AI-driven solutions to improve organization.
- High-Impact Communications: Act as the conductor of the symphony; effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure others are clear on operational plans, deadlines, and the impact the organization is aiming to achieve.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for the Steering Committee and VIP Speakers & vendors. You will manage outreach, develop materials & presentations, and ensure our partners and key stakeholders receive elite-level support.
Qualifications/Skills
- Tech & AI Savvy: You have deep experience with HubSpot and a proven ability to implement AI tools to solve operational hurdles and automate manual tasks.
- Master Communicator: You possess exceptional writing and verbal skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for key stakeholders, partners, and global innovators.
- Financial Acumen: Possesses experience with budgets, forecasts, and ensuring financial efficiencies. Experience with QuickBooks is preferred.
- Outcome-Oriented: You have a "heart-in-the-job" drive and a track record of managing multiple demands independently.
- Leadership Presence: High EQ and ethical standards are non-negotiable. You can lead diverse groups, manage budgets, and support fundraising efforts with confidence and composure.
Company Benefits/Perks

- Salary: Fractional to start with the opportunity to grow into the $80,000 per year salary based on a standard 40-hour work week.
- After W2 status:
- Retirement: 401(k) retirement plan
- Paid Time Off: 3 weeks (15 days) of paid vacation.
