Job description

Our Customer is an American worldwise clothing and accessories retailer, founded in 1969. Over the last 50 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with seven brands. Their clothes are availabile in 90 countries worldwide through over 3,100 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing.


We are seeking a Director, Supply Chain & Product-to-Market Communications on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is on-site in San Francisco, CA.



Qualifications:

  • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan aligned with supply chain and broader business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define key messages and communication priorities.
  • Create and manage internal communication programs to keep employees informed about supply chain initiatives and organizational changes.
  • Partner across product, sourcing, merchandising, operations, technology, and change management teams to ensure alignment and message consistency.
  • Work with Change Management and HR teams to deliver communications that support transformation and adoption efforts.
  • Develop content for internal newsletters, intranet sites, emails, presentations, and other communication channels.
  • Oversee external communications related to supply chain operations, including press releases, media relations, social media content, and stakeholder communication.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets to drive positive coverage of supply chain initiatives.
  • Lead crisis communication efforts related to supply chain disruptions; develop contingency plans and ensure timely information distribution.
  • Engage with suppliers, logistics partners, regulatory bodies, and community organizations to strengthen communication transparency.
  • Produce high-quality written materials, including executive speeches, talking points, blog posts, and white papers on supply chain and industry trends.
  • Establish and track metrics to measure communication effectiveness and report on impact against business goals.
  • Lead and develop a team of communication professionals, fostering collaboration, innovation, and talent growth.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate communications, preferably within retail or supply chain environments.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing strategic communication plans.
  • Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in crisis communication and managing sensitive issues.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders, media representatives, and external partners.
  • Experience with digital and social media communication platforms.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience measuring communication performance.
