We are seeking an Employment Practices Specialist on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote.
What You'll Do:
- Conflict Resolution: Act as a mediator in resolving conflicts and disputes between associates or between associates and management. Conduct thorough investigations into complaints or grievances and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Associate Counseling: Provide guidance and support to managers on how to address associates on various workplace issues, including performance concerns, interpersonal conflicts, and disciplinary actions. Offer coaching and advice to associates and managers on conflict resolution and communication strategies. Help ensure fairness and consistency in disciplinary actions and decisions.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs related to associate relations and conduct workshops or training sessions for managers and associates on topics such as communication skills, conflict resolution, and diversity awareness.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Stay updated on employment laws, regulations, and best practices related to associate relations. Assist in ensuring compliance with legal requirements and minimizing risks related to associate disputes or litigation.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of associate relations issues, investigations, and resolutions. Prepare reports and review analysis on trends, patterns, and areas of concern for identification of improvement opportunities.
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or related field or equivalent experience. Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
- Proven experience (1-3 years) in associate relations, HR, or related field, preferably in a large organization or corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of federal, state and local employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with associates at all levels.
- Solid conflict resolution and mediation skills, with the ability to remain impartial and objective.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
