Job description

A prestigious law firm in Charlotte, NC specializing in estate planning, tax, corporate transactions, commercial real estate and finance is seeking an experienced Estate Planning attorney.


We are a mid-sized firm dedicated to delivering top-tier legal solutions for private clients, entrepreneurs, business owners and family offices who value our ability to recognize their business transactions, investment changes and life events as opportunities to minimize taxes and protect wealth for the benefit of current and future family members.


We are seeking an attorney for an Estate Planning position.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sophisticated estate, wealth transfer, and tax planning.


Qualifications:

 At least 3-5 years of work experience as an attorney

 Substantial experience in sophisticated estate and wealth transfer planning, including

advanced gifting strategies, sophisticated estate planning documents, irrevocable trust

planning, generation-skipping transfer tax planning, business succession planning,

estate and trust administration, and the preparation and review of federal gift and estate

tax returns

 Experience with charitable planning, fiduciary matters, and advising fiduciaries and

closely held business owners

 Knowledge of asset protection, family office structures, fiduciary services, partnership

and corporate tax matters, and related tax and succession planning strategies, as well

as relevant knowledge of partnership taxation and business entities

 Strong technical knowledge of estate, gift, and GST tax matters

 Excellent drafting and analytical skills

 Strong client relationship and interpersonal skills

 Ability to manage matters independently and collaboratively

 North Carolina bar admission, or ability to become licensed in North Carolina
