Job description
Our Customer is an American computer and consumer electronics company famous for creating phones and computers. As one of the largest companies globally with a market cap of over 2 trillion dollars, it is a major leader in the space. Although this company was founded in 1976 it has transformed how we connect and communicate worldwide.
We are seeking an Event Project Manager on a contract basis with experience across in-person, virtual, and hybrid experiences to support our Worldwide Events Team. The Events Team is charged with bringing the company's iconic brand and products to life for audiences around the world, including managing end-to-end production of both digital and in real life experiences. The position requires a dedication to delighting customers, employees and stakeholders, uncompromising integrity, and the ability to innovate the smallest details to deliver extraordinary physical and virtual experiences. This role is a hybrid setup in Cupertino, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Running overall project schedules, timelines, matrices and event communication for new product launches, WWDC and other worldwide events and experiences
- Develop and own the project timeline – Ensure that product deliverables are successfully met
- Plans agendas for and facilitates required meetings; prioritizes and drives cross-functional activities as related to the event programs being managed, and develops and manages communications, summary reports, and status for various audiences
- The position has working relationships with, but not limited to Public Relations, Marcom, Procurement, IS&T, Finance, RE&D as well as external service providers
- Provides guidance to other team members on matters of process, procedure, and organizational compliance; proactively identifies opportunities for improvement in processes and procedures and recommends solutions
- Manage event logistics and production including project management, vendor coordination, attendee experience, food and beverage, design, setup, breakdown, etc.
- Communicate clearly and facilitate cross unit collaboration amongst internal stakeholders and partners, and well as our external resources
- Contribute to creative ideation on event concepts, processes, and other areas of event management
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- 3-5 years of experience in project management for marketing/events either in-house or at a top tier experiential or marketing agency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as an influential presenter
- Extensive knowledge in project management is essential; from strategy, program development, messaging, logistics, vendor management, budget, on-site execution to post-event analysis
- Blend of a creative and analytical thinker, capable of handling complicated logistics and technical elements, as well as creative aspects
- Hyper-organized with an obsession for details, excellent time and process management skills, and the ability to be proactive in identifying potential problems and appropriate solutions
- Comfortable navigating through ambiguity, while still tracking objectives and advancing deliverables
- Approachable and resourceful, with the ability to develop trusting relationships and influence outcomes in the company's best interest
- Excellent communication skills
- Track record of being agile, reacting quickly to new information and seamlessly adapting project plans accordingly
- Understands how events and experiences fit into the wider integrated marketing mix and keeps a pulse on the industry as a whole
- Must be willing to travel on request
