Job description

On-site event team member:

1099 - Contract

Key responsibilities

  1. Pre-expo setup:
  2. Setting up tables, chairs, signage, backdrops, and other event material.
  3. Checking and ensuring all necessary equipment is functional and in place.
  4. Coordinating with vendors to set up booths or displays according to floor plan.
  5. Stuffing swag bags with sponsored items.
  6. Guest management:
  7. Greeting & checking in attendees upon arrival.
  8. Providing winners with their prizes and swag bags to guests.
  9. Answering guest questions.
  10. Helping with various games.
  11. Guiding guests to where they should enter the expo and also making them aware of all the perks available to attendees.
  12. During the expo:
  13. Monitoring event flow and addressing any issues that arise.
  14. Taking phone pictures for social media.
  15. Providing support to expo director and exhibitors as needed.
  16. Post-expo breakdown:
  17. Collecting and organizing event materials.
  18. Disassembling event setups
  19. Ensuring all equipment is properly stored and accounted for.

Required skills for an on-site event staff role:

  1. Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with guests and colleagues
  3. Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing situations
  4. Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  5. Physical ability to lift and move event materials
  6. Flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings and weekends
  7. Ability to have fun on the job!
