Position Summary
The Events Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, & executing events that enhance brand visibility, strengthen customer and community relationships, and drive sales growth. Ideally based in Austin or San Antonio, with necessary travel throughout cities, the Events Manager will increase event presence within major markets in Texas including Austin, San Antonio, College Park, & Houston. This role requires strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring events are executed smoothly, on budget, and in alignment with company values.
This position will also oversee & coordinate the fleet of event vehicles, including our food truck and multiple ice cream carts. The role reports to the CEO.
Minimum Expectations
- Fully support the founder's mission and integrity of the Lick Honest brand.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Events department.
- Take the initiative to drive Event sales with new client partnerships by performing outreach to businesses, catering companies, colleges, etc.
- Maintain the highest sanitary and cleanliness levels in a professional setting before, during & after events.
- Strive to build an events team, using shop current Lick staff.
- Work off-site events as needed when no staffing is secured.
- Adhere to brand standards within communication with customers, clients, and fellow team members.
- Be flexible with scheduling and be able to work autonomously with clear goals and timelines.
- Maintain organization across all event spaces.
- Take initiative to benefit the company.
- Assume positive intent when interacting with the team and clientele.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of event planning, logistics, setup, and breakdown of Lick Events (catering, donation based & beyond), including but not limited to:
- Responding to booking inquiries in a timely and friendly manner
- Assessing event profitability and providing thoughtful recommendations
- Creating proposals, event materials and other required booking & execution documents
- Clearly and respectfully communicating with clients regularly
- Coordinating event staff; being the main point of contact for all events and for any emergencies that may arise on and around the event day
- Ensuring the overall success of the execution of any event, the event's follow up and reconciliation.
- Effectively maintain event calendars.
- Maintain and manage organization, cleanliness, storage, maintenance, and stock levels for all events including truck supplies, props, and decor. Be able to purchase more as needed autonomously within brand standards and department budgets.
- Ensure all required permits, insurance, and compliance needs are met.
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of event vehicles, push carts, event equipment, and event supplies.
- Build and maintain an event team; ensuring that all event staff have a full understanding of the Lick brand, mission, product, and the job expectations.
- Motivate and lead staff by example; provide staff with detailed event kits and expectations of service.
- Continuously cultivate new relationships with viable clients, venues, and vendors including wedding planners, corporate event coordinators, philanthropic organizations, schools, community members, influencers, press, and business leaders to leverage for future events.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, operations, production, etc.) to align events with overall business goals.
- Source, negotiate, and manage vendor and venue contracts.
- Research & develop strategies to procure new event bookings.
- Develop inventive ideas, make recommendations, and follow through with ideas to remain competitive, abreast, or ahead of local and national event market.
- Measure and report on event performance, including attendance, engagement, and revenue impact.
- Create and manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and positive ROI.
Essential Functions
- Handle inquiries in a timely and friendly manner

- Able to read and comprehend written material
- Able to stand for events lasting up to, but not limited to, 8 hours of time on concrete and metal flooring
- Perform tasks which involve repetitive motion and/or lifting including, but not limited to the use of arms, hands, wrists, back
- Able to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
- Travel to events and other department related functions
- Drive all necessary company vehicles including but not limited to a diesel food truck and delivery vans
- Lift 50# of product
Qualifications
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or related field is a bonus.
- 3+ years of experience in event management, preferably in food & beverage, hospitality, or consumer brands.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, event management tools/software, & CRMs.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with experiential marketing or brand activations.
- Budget management and financial reporting skills.
- Creative mindset with a focus on delivering unique, memorable experiences.
