Job description
Our customer is a leading global media and entertainment company that creates and distributes a large portfolio of content and brands across television, film, and streaming and is available in over 200 countries and territories and over 45 languages. Headquartered in New York, NY with more than 30 office locations in the United States.
We are seeking an Executive Assistant on a contract basis to provide critical support to two Senior Vice Presidents in the Production & Development Department. This role is central to the smooth operation of both Development and Production offices, handling high-volume project flow, key industry relationships, and confidential information. The ideal candidate has a strong entertainment background, thrives in high-pressure environments, and has a genuine interest in true crime content, which is a core focus of this team. This role is hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote/week) in New York City.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and organizational support to two Senior Vice Presidents, including scheduling, travel arrangements, expense reports, and meeting coordination.
- Manage day-to-day operations across Development and Production, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, and priorities are met.
- Act as a liaison with internal departments (development, programming, casting, marketing) and external stakeholders (agents, writers, producers, and talent).
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Track and manage hundreds of ongoing projects simultaneously, maintaining organized systems and documentation.
- Support creative and production cycles by generating, maintaining, and archiving project assets; compiling and distributing agendas and research; and evaluating production company materials.
- Assist in designing and implementing departmental procedures to streamline workflow and information sharing.
- Represent the department professionally when interacting with executives, talent, and partners.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant, ideally in the entertainment industry.
- Strong understanding of the entertainment industry, especially development and production workflows.
- Must have a genuine interest in true crime content, with the ability to engage with programming in this genre.
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage and track hundreds of projects simultaneously.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure while balancing competing demands and personalities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the professionalism to interact with senior executives and external partners.
- High degree of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
