Job description

We are a Family Law firm located in Southern California seeking a highly experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team. The Paralegal's duties will include assisting attorneys with preparing and e-filing documents, maintaining files and helping prepare for trials. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and must be able to multitask effectively.

Core responsibilities:

  • E-filing documents in Family Court throughout California.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, opposing party, and/or third parties.
  • Maintaining client database and client files.
  • Maintaining calendars for attorneys, including scheduling meetings, depositions, mediations, and any other necessary appointments as needed.
  • Calculating and calendaring case-related deadlines to ensure timely filings.
  • Preparing legal documents, memos, emails, and other written correspondence on behalf of the attorneys.
  • Assisting the attorneys in all aspects of discovery, including deposition prep.
  • Assisting the attorneys in preparing for trial.

Qualifications/Skills

  • At least 6 years experience as family law paralegal in California.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents, and have exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a trauma-informed, child-centered family law firm.
  • Experience with Clio desired.
