Job description
We are a Family Law firm located in Southern California seeking a highly experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team. The Paralegal's duties will include assisting attorneys with preparing and e-filing documents, maintaining files and helping prepare for trials. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and must be able to multitask effectively.
Core responsibilities:
- E-filing documents in Family Court throughout California.
- Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, opposing party, and/or third parties.
- Maintaining client database and client files.
- Maintaining calendars for attorneys, including scheduling meetings, depositions, mediations, and any other necessary appointments as needed.
- Calculating and calendaring case-related deadlines to ensure timely filings.
- Preparing legal documents, memos, emails, and other written correspondence on behalf of the attorneys.
- Assisting the attorneys in all aspects of discovery, including deposition prep.
- Assisting the attorneys in preparing for trial.
Qualifications/Skills
- At least 6 years experience as family law paralegal in California.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents, and have exceptional organizational skills.
- Must be able to function effectively in a trauma-informed, child-centered family law firm.
- Experience with Clio desired.
