Job description
Our Customer is the world's leading music company that owns and operates a broad array of businesses engaged in recorded music, music publishing, merchandising, and audiovisual content in more than 60 countries. They identify and develop recording artists and songwriters, and produce, distribute and promote the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful music to delight and entertain fans around the world.
We are seeking a Royalty Analyst on a contract basis to help support our customer’s business needs.
What You’ll Do:
- Analyze third-party contracts for royalty obligations.
- Review and administer royalty statement statements for artists and third-party participants.
- Create and manage royalty accounts for artists and third-party participants.
- Communicate with various parties (internal and external) to obtain contracts and verify participation splits to ensure all obligations are executed in accordance with contract terms and understandings of all contractual parties.
- Create and maintain detailed management reports (i.e. artist profiles).
- Assist with daily inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with month-end tasks as needed.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as needed.
Must Haves:
- 3-5 years of work experience preferred.
- Experience with recording contracts and royalty administration/accounting preferred.
- Experience with music publishing royalties preferred.
- Experience with participations or residuals preferred.
- Experience with Financial Accounting (including journal entry preparation and accruals) preferred.
- Strong skills using Microsoft Excel and proficiency in a Windows environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must be a Self-Motivated.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize work and meet deadlines with little oversight.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly and efficiently.
- Accountability for deliverables.
- Collaborative nature.
- Commitment to work overtime as required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Accounting, or Finance (or equivalent work experience) is preferred
Hours & Location:
- M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be 100% Remote.
