Probate and Fiduciary Accounting Assistant
Job Summary: The Probate and Fiduciary Accounting Assistant is responsible for preparing accurate and timely estate and trust accountings in compliance with applicable state laws and regulations. This position requires strong financial reporting skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with probate court procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare estate and trust accountings, including income statements, balance sheets, and schedules of assets and liabilities.
- Ensure all fiduciary accounting reports are filed with the probate court in accordance with court rules and deadlines.
- Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions related to estate and trust administration.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and other financial reports as required.
- Communicate effectively with executors, trustees, and other fiduciaries regarding accounting matters.
- Provide support and guidance to the legal team on probate and fiduciary accounting issues.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in probate or fiduciary accounting.
- Proficient in using fiduciary accounting software, such as Lackner 6 in 1 (preferred but not required).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
