Job description

The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, one of the premier aesthetic practices located in Newport Beach, CA! This is a hybrid onsite position and hours would be 9:00am-5:00pm (flexibility as needed).

Our client is looking for a Bookkeeping Associate to join their team who can grow and become a valued member of the management team. The individual is responsible for working directly with the CEO in preparing financial information for management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing financial reports.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (or relevant degree), has strong attention to detail, and superb analytical skills. The company is private equity backed which leads to tremendous learning potential and sophistication of the work.

Responsibilities:

  • Compile weekly cash flow and financial modeling, including accounts payables organization and purchasing

  • Data analytics on business performance, including patient acquisition, retention, and optimization of the business at strategic and operational levels

  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends

  • Special projects with OCEO, COO and management team around elevating business processes and performance

  • Assist in the monthly close process to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting including the preparation of monthly Profit / Loss, Balance Sheet reconciliations

  • Assist with preparation for year-end financials, and schedule requests of external consultants including xCFO, legal

  • Assist with the establishment, documentation and continuous improvement of all financial processes, workflows and forms

  • Assist in Profit and Loss report, expenses, and account receivables

  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures

  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements

Qualifications/Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting and financial reporting
  • BSc in Accounting, Finance, Business or relevant degree
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel (PowerPoint is a plus)

  • Strong bookkeeping and month end closing skills

  • Experience in the medical, aesthetics or beauty service industry or direct to consumer experience a big plus

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Strong attention to detail, deadline-oriented and time management skills

  • Data entry management and analytical skills

  • Additional certification (CPA or CFA) is a plus
