Job description
The Mom Project is excited to partner with a growing nonprofit that combat combats antisemitism by developing and supporting innovative legal solutions, is seeking a part-time Finance and Operations Manager.
Reporting directly to the COO, the Finance and Operations Manager will be responsible for managing financial and operational systems, processes, administration, and internal controls in support of the organization's mission. The Finance and Operations Manager works closely with all personnel to ensure timely and accurate processing and reporting and produce and analyze financial reports on a monthly/quarterly basis. This position is expected to start at 20 hours a week and grow to fulltime.
Responsibilities and Duties by Function
Internal Operations & Administration
• Maintain office systems: phone, computers, cloud-based email & file management system, CRM and database systems, fax, physical mail
• Act as primary liaison with all vendors
• Support with new hire paperwork, including benefits enrollment
• Maintain vendor relations and seek out cost-effective and values aligned alternatives
• Manage fulfillment tax related requirements
• Maintain files as needed.
Business & Finance Operations
• Process payroll, accounts payable and receivable requests and perform other similar functions
• Complete month-end close, process all general ledger entries as received on a monthly basis
• Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Create financial statements
• Work closely with COO to prepare annual budget and financial reports for Board of Directors
• Assist with annual audit and budgeting
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant experience
• At least 2 years financial management experience
• Experience in non-profit accounting
• Expertise with QuickBooks accounting system
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, prioritization, and communication skills
• Ability to function well in a remote, team-oriented environment
• Detail-oriented with strong time management skills
• Commitment to combatting antisemitism and protecting civil rights
