Role Details:
- Compensation: This is an independent contractor position. Compensation ranges between $125 - $250 per billable hour based on experience and demands of particular assignment. Material bonus structure available for contractor-generated engagements.
- Location: Our firm primarily utilizes a hybrid work framework to support its independent contractors depending on current workflow. Located in Libertyville, Illinois most contractors split their time 60/40 between in-office and remote work. Contractors should be able to provide proof of U.S. work eligibility and COVID vaccination, as we seek to protect the health of our contractors and clients.
- Hours: Will fluctuate based on company needs. We expect a range of ~ 20 – 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days in-office, 2 days WFH. Work hours flexible to accommodate family and school schedules
We are a boutique financial and valuation consulting firm focused on highest value-added transaction advisory, restructurings, independent litigation testimony and valuation opinions. National scope cases, sourced primarily from our complex commercial litigation and transaction national law firm referral base. Relaxed north shore suburban environment.

The Director will provide business, financial and strategic consulting advice to our clients and support expert testimony. It is an experienced level position requiring strong financial and analytical skills. In addition to strong data management, financial advisory, accounting investigation, interpersonal, writing, and communication skills and executive presence, the Director is expected to have hands-on experience building / developing integrated 3-statement financial and 13-week cash flow models, as well as comprehensive valuation and economic models. We generally know deliverable deadlines one to two months in advance, although at times, long hours during the week and on weekends, due to client demands, may be necessary.
Qualifications:
- Big 4 CPA firm experience or National-scope investment banking or consulting experience.
- Graduate or undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics or similar major required, MBA preferred
- ASA, ABV or similar credentials
- Minimum 3-8 years of relevant experience
- Track record of consistently delivering high-value work to meet clients’ needs.
Responsibilities:
- Understands objectives and integrates individual work stream(s) into multiple projects. Adjusts work stream goals to the broader context of the project.
- Ability to work in office three days a week when necessitated by work flow, remote the remainder of the time with a willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours as unique projects/needs arise.
- Ability to be first-chair on financial modeling and analysis.
- Makes decisions and advises the client using advanced understanding of the core drivers of a client’s business. Knows how to leverage expertise in a business context to be impactful.
- Uses a systematic approach to quickly and logically identify issues across situations. Examines issues thoroughly and holistically.
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills. Solid understanding of financial statements.
- Advance written communication skills, able to prepare well laid out, easily understood analysis and presentations. Articulately communicates information and adapts effectively to the audience. Delivers influential client communications with clarity and confidence.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills, Bloomberg, FactSet. Capital IQ, Tagnify.
- Builds relationships with clients, peers and our pipeline of business referral sources,.
- Able to work independently. High energy style, flexible and adaptive, works well in a fast paced environment.
- Physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
