Job description
We are a fractional CFO consultancy that offers three lines of service: Financial Operations, Growth Strategy, and Transaction Advisory. We support small-and-medium-sized businesses that are privately owned and institutionally backed.
About the Role
This is a 1099 contract remote role for a Senior Financial Analyst. The Senior Financial Analyst will be primarily responsible for financial planning, analyzing financial statements, and financial reporting support for our clients. They will also be involved in various finance tasks related to financial operations, growth strategy, and transaction advisory.
This role requires an individual who is curious, flexible and easily self-motivated. The primary deliverable for this role will be to update (in Microsoft Excel) the three-statement financial models each month for the firm's clients. While these models are complete and functional, we are seeking in this role an individual with the experience and background to improve and streamline our internal financial modeling process as the firm continues to scale.
We serve a wide range of customers of various sizes and industries. This role will require an individual eager to learn about a variety of business models and to become an active contributor the performance and strategic direction of the firm's clients.
Role Requirements
- This role is for U.S.-based individuals only. Do not apply if you are not based in the continental United States
- This role requires a minimum of 15-20 hours per week, with at least 3-4 hours available during East Coast hours

Ideally, you are:
- From a background in financial services with a long-term goal of transitioning into a CFO role
- Open to a full-time role with more direct responsibility for managing new and existing client accounts
- Curious, flexible and easily self-motivated
- Open to working for a small business at the beginning of its journey and able to contribute meaningfully to the company's direction
- Knowledgeable on complex financial accounting issues
- Business-minded and able to organize your time
Preferences
- Background in investment banking, private equity or corporate FP&A
- Experience performing financial modeling across a range of industries, including CPG, SaaS and Manufacturing
- CPA preferred, but not required
- Long-term goal of transitioning from financial services to a corporate CFO and seeking a stepping stone role to learning
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of work experience
- Expert in three-statement financial modeling
- Advanced Excel skills and very strong financial modeling and valuation skills
- Ability to handle multiple clients at once
- Experience in financial planning and financial reporting
- Proficiency in analyzing financial statements
- Knowledge of finance principles and practices
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Experience with small-and-medium-sized businesses
